Permanency Policy

The Journal of Clinical Question is committed to maintaining the integrity and permanence of the scholarly record. The final published article constitutes the Version of Record. The journal seeks to preserve its content, citation details, and accessibility over time, subject to the post-publication actions described below.

Where necessary, corrections, expressions of concern, retractions, or, in exceptional circumstances, removals may be issued in accordance with the journal's Editorial Policies. These actions are documented in notices that explain their purpose and any changes to the article. Notices form part of the permanent scholarly record and are linked to the original article, with a corresponding link from the article to the notice.

A retracted article normally remains accessible and is clearly identified as retracted. If exceptional circumstances require removal of published content, the article's bibliographic metadata and a notice explaining the removal are retained, as described in the Editorial Policies. This preserves a transparent record of the publication and the action taken.

Published content is preserved through PORTICO, a digital preservation service that supports the long-term accessibility and integrity of the scholarly record. Digital preservation complements access through the journal's website and helps protect published content against technological obsolescence and loss of access over time.
